2021 saw me travelling to the NT to celebrate a fab wedding at an outback station!

I have had the honour of being asked to marry close friends again in the NT outback at Gorrie Station! To give you an idea this it is literally 100 kms off the Stuart Highway from Mataranka and like 5 hours from Darwin. We used to live in Mataranka in the late 80’s and we all became close having our babies together. All grown up Kate asked me to marry her to Jake. Kate runs a neighbouring station called “Why Worry” and Jake is a helicopter pilot. With lots of fun and buzz around setting up this wedding with around 250 guests, we had a busy fun and nostalgic time over 4 days on the June long weekend. This was done beautifully with no detail forgotten-MOTB Helen was amazing with months of preparing as did the bride Kate juggling everything which logistically was hard and around the business of cattle station life. Dad Mike had the job of flying Kate in via his helicopter which was very cool and so many people jumped in to make this day one of a kind. Well thought out vows, crying, sharp looking cowboys and great speeches alongside delicious fresh food under thousands of fairy lights under the stars made this such a unique and special wedding. While there I was chatting to other great friends who said- can you come to Nhulunbuy next year to be a celebrant for our family! YES please!
