The great outdoors is a perfect setting – but have you thought what your guests are getting?

October is a great time to have outdoor weddings which are so beautiful. Here are a few things to consider when organising your outdoor wedding as the one thing we don’t have control over is the weather!

It’s important to make sure your guests are comfortable. I have found that nearly every wedding I have done outdoors that the bride will be fashionably late.

Don’t leave your guests uncomfortably melting. I have been to weddings where ice-cold bottles of water are on offer. Consider printing your wedding program on a fan so that guests may cool themselves or simply just supplying paper fans!

On our warm Coffs Harbour Coast parasols are a great addition to the day too.

I know I have mentioned this before, but it is imperative to have a backup plan for wet weather. I always advise couples to have one in mind and to make sure if they are using a venue that they have checked that it is available in case of wet weather.

I always make sure I have an emergency number to call in case that call is made around an hour before the ceremony due to a change in weather.

Recently I have experienced severe wind at a beach location and it was really necessary to change the position of the ceremony at the last minute. I was so glad I chatted with the groom to move the chairs and decorations as everybody was so much more comfortable in the new position close by and the bride arrived, veil and all and was not literally blown off the beach!

Lastly-can everyone hear the wedding?-I am a huge believer in providing excellent audio at an outdoor wedding. There is nothing worse than not being able to hear – everyone tunes out and the travesty is that the couple have worked so hard on their vows and ceremony to have nobody enjoy it.

Happy outdoor weddings!!!!
