When can I sign my name so my husband and I are the same!

I am often asked by a bride who has decided to take her husband’s last name can she sign this right after the kiss and when she is signing all the legal documents at the ceremony?-that makes sense –right?

But it actually starts straight after that and once we have publicly declared and introduced you to everyone! I will present you with a Government issued (and numbered) Marriage Certificate and that states the day and place where your wedding took place and was officially solemnised with me. I then send all the official paperwork in to Births Deaths and Marriages in the State/Territory where your wedding was held and then it is that official Marriage Certificate  that you use to change names and update such documents as your driver’s license and passport. I am happy to take you through all the steps as that is totally part of my service!
