Between Sydney and Sawtell I have lots to tell…….

As my life as a celebrant grows I am loving meeting and sharing peoples lives in a such a special way and my love for this chosen career is growing more and more!

This month was extra special as I was asked to officiate at a close friend’s wedding in Manly at the beautiful and very majestic St.Patricks Estate which you have to see to believe!

My gorgeous friend, Holly, and I have shared such a special chapter of our lives and I touched on this at the beginning of the ceremony. I could not say too much without us both losing the plot!

I realised how the ritual of a wedding is so layered and signifies much more than announcing your love for your partner. Holly chose a reading that talked about the significance of marriage and how it is a bringing together. “It is a bringing together of two people, of two families, or two tribes, or two villages, or even two countries. Marriage is that powerful. Marriage is not something to be entered into lightly. Marriage is a pledge meant to last a lifetime”

It is always very heart warming when guests tell you how much they enjoyed the ceremony that you just did. I had the added pleasure of this feedback as I was a guest at the reception. One young guy came up to me and said that those words resonated so strongly with him that he felt like he had renewed his enthusiasm for his own marriage again. The ceremony had relit that fire for him. That made me excited. I think that is the essence of a great ceremony-when everyone is reminded of their own marriage pledges and how important our partners are in our lives.

The following weekend saw me sharing a beautiful wedding with a great local couple, Karina and Kenneth. They were so much fun, had great friends and family and even though the rain hung around and was on and off, we all enjoyed a light hearted and lovely ceremony together at Bongil Bongil National Park. What an honour to step into their lives and join an already truly committed couple.

I have also been lucky to share the special day of another vey local and cool couple at Sawtell Headland. The weather was perfect and although a small crowd we all shared a very intimate and heart warming ceremony. Thank you Craig and Richele- I wish you every happiness as well.

I am now off for a specially planned break with my daughter to join my Mum in New York City-a first for me and very excited!I am thrilled to also be joining my son and his partner who live in Darwin and share his 21st Birthday!

I will be blogging in a few weeks and I will make sure I will return any enquiries after May 14th. Please email me as I will reply to any date equiries-May is going to busy too! Stay safe and well xx
